Engagement Photos are usually the first time you’ll be the model during a photography session. It can be nerve-wracking since you’re not completely comfortable being photographed, and that’s okay! Working with your photographer and following these steps will make your engagement session a breeze!
It’s a Practice Run!
Think of it as a practice run! You’ll get to practice posing with your fiancé and with the help of your photographer. Go through some poses of what feels natural and what feels forced. Figure out what feels right and what feels wrong so you can perfect what you works for you on your wedding day!
Find your Inspiration
Find inspiration in your location! Pick a place that is stunning for your engagement session that you really like. When you’re excited about the location, you’ll be excited to take photos there! Whether it’s a lovely vineyard, on top of a mountain, or a homey farm, find a place that suits your style and that you’re inspired by.
Look the Part!
Consider getting your hair or makeup done for your engagement photos! This could also be a practice run for your wedding day, so try out some hair or makeup styles that you think could suit you with potential makeup and hair artists!
Wear Something Comfortable
In order to be relaxed during your engagement session, you want to be comfortable. You’ll probably be walking around so be cautious of what you wear. Of course you want to look nice, but that doesn’t mean you have to forfeit comfort! If you’re not comfortable then of course you won’t be relaxed during your engagement session!
Remember it’s all about YOU
Remember, your engagement session is celebrating the fact that you are engaged with the love of your life! There’s no need to stress or make it complicated as long as it’s just the two of you. Just as long as you focus on each other and celebrate the fact that you’re getting married, your engagement photos should be as amazing as the love you share!
